An unexpected opportunity arose shortly after the last art meet we had! Doujin Market’s team announced that they would host a casual creators hangout, where it was a small get-together for local artists to come network and art jam.
Signups were via a Google Form and those shortlisted were informed by email. The venue partner, Bondfire Tavern, had a nice selection of dinner options and drinks we could get while we interacted with each other. I got to try the truffle mayo fries which was insanely generous with their toppings, and the cranberry apple fizz ($12) with ginger ale, which was deliciously refreshing. They were also doing a quite trial of apple pies! ($7/slice, $11 with ice cream). I came here to art but I ate instead…
I was delighted to run into a number of old friends at the meet. Finally seeing each other outside of a convention was really great. We chatted until past the event hour and it was lovely catching up with everyone. That said, I got no art done XD. One attendee also brought some Mecha Chameleon figures to paint on, so now they are hidden within the tavern. If you drop by, see if you can spot them!
