Illustration Art Festival + Art Meet 4th July 2026 – VivoCity!

When Illustration Arts Fest was announced, I was super stoked to go! How better to appreciate the event than to attend with fellow artists? So I called for an open invite for artists to go with! On the way, we saw a really still stork which looked like a statue, and were surprised when it moved. So cool!

IAF2026 was fantastic, with so many unique styles and concepts I got to see outside of the anime art circle. It’s really cool to witness the variety of original works that doesn’t usually get the spotlight here. I hope more events like these will be hosted so we can have further exposure to our local arts scene.

The most memorable booth to me was the one by Tell Your Children, where they set up a photobooth of sorts programmed by their team. Upon putting your hand on the sensor, the camera captures a photo and runs it through a program that randomises features to create an Arcimboldo-esque portrait of you. There is also a 5% chance of getting a gold-bordered picture, which allows you to have anything off the rack for free!

After attending, we headed to VivoCity which was nearby. Without a formal venue (again), we gathered in a sheltered spot on the sky garden to draw. The weather was lovely and the wind from Sentosa was quite nice, it was a very chill place to hang out. 10/10 would relax here again.

Some familiar faces from the previous art meet came by, and many stayed for dinner and donki this time. Something about seeing the works of others really motivates one to make your own art. I had a really productive time sketching some of my attendee friends and their OCs, readying to Art Fight on stream in 2 days!

Thank you for coming, let’s see each other again soon!
