Slightly longer than usual post ahead!
Back in 2022, my Vtuber Group and I had the amazing opportunity to debut on the Akiba Stage at Anime Festival Asia! AFA is one of the biggest anime conventions in Asia, so it was a great honor to occupy the stage at Prime time on Saturday, 2pm!
I remember getting jittery with excitement from the news that we secured the slot. This was the first time Min, Kochi, Ari and I appeared together, and was the beginning of an incredibly fun journey ahead. My only regret is not setting up my own set-up to record it, because we lost the performance to time.
That year, we were partnered with XP-Pen, so we had a Guess-the-vtuber drawing and Giveaway segment where all four of us took turns revealing a character through drawing! I drew Usada Pekora, one of my oshis from Hololive. It was exciting being backstage with a PC strung up to 4 laptops, and equally challenging because the environment made it hard to hear the emcee as she hosted our segment.
We had the Giveaway drawing segment and a Zatsudan segment to introduce ourselves and our dynamic to the audience. In the end, we did not get a proper headcount of the audience members, but it we got a picture from the Official AFA Account after showing the crowd!
At the booth, I set up my own little giveaway for new followers! It was also the first time we had life-sized standees printed out. And many new (and old) henchbunnies came by to snap a picture with it. Thank you for visiting the booth and showing your support for us!
