In October 2023, I started playing Moonstone Island during one of my Indie Game Nights! It was so fun that I revisited it a few days later for a Part 2 (3h50m mark) and Part 3! (Starting 2h28m mark)
The graphics are right up my alley with gorgeous pixel art and a lovable main character. The creatures are also cute and I wanted to catch them all! The amount of combat was surprising but welcome, and the turn-based card fighting mechanics were fresh and fun. There are different ways to play your hand to your advantage! There are apparently more than 100 islands to explore, so I was barely scratching the surface with my 2 dungeon explorations. But it is certainly a game I would revisit if I had the capacity to bring it around with me in the future!
