Fishing for a niche? Apart from Hime’s Design House having launched, one of the game genres I mentioned to my consultant was fishing games! I was encouraged to try building a niche around fishing games, since it is something I enjoyed and there were not many streamers that came to mind when one thought of ‘fishing’.
Thus began a short-lived stream series I called Fishing Fridays! They were fun while they lasted, but due to constant scheduling conflicts, Fishing Fridays were scarce and only a few episodes came out for them over April and May 2024. Perhaps one day I’ll revisit the genre.
For our first and 2nd stream, we played a lovely pixel art game called Fishing Paradiso by Odencat. It’s cast of lovable characters paired with the fun fishing mechanics made the game incredibly chill and enjoyable. I enjoyed the underlying plot throughout, and it was heartwarming game to play with some challenging achievements to unlock too.
