Playing through a Sonic the Hedgehog Visual Novel was not on my 2023 bingo but here we are! For this game, I invited my friend and Vtuber sister Bathyfisher to join me in reading the text together! It was not a voiced visual novel, so it worked out perfectly to play with her, she’s a master at coming up with voices for the characters! I drew little sprites for us to play with and for promotional purposes.
The game was a genuine hoot, with a great balance moments of suspense, intrigue and funnies. The true-to-Sonic styled visuals were so fun to look at throughout and honestly, I was tempted to draw a Sonic OC after! (I didn’t end up doing that though). A couple of minigames existed within the Visual Novel, which made for nice reading breaks!
