I’ve never heard the genres action, farming and puzzle being put together until Super Farming Boy by LemonChilli Games reached out. This charming game which released its trailer during 2024’s Latin American Games Showcase features a charming art style and mechanics that I couldn’t quite comprehend from the trailer alone. But I’m excited to try!
The art style has a little reminiscence of the 1920s with flexible limbs and bouncy idle animation, but the bright colours lends itself to making the art style for the game unique. I tried drawing my own Vtuber in the style of their characters for the stream’s thumbnail! (But gave up on the eyes eventually…lol :”D)
From the Steam description, it seems there will be chain reactions and combos involved, so as a Puyo Puyo fan, I’m super excited to see what lies ahead tomorrow, 12th August 2025, 10pm GMT+8! Super Farming Boy scratched an itch in my brain which I didn’t know I had! The combos were incredibly satisfying and I enjoyed trying to make huge combos so much! Unfortunately, Steam Cloud save is not available yet so I started a new save on my ROG Ally X. With no keyboard, there’s no way for me to input the codes, so I was tasked with earning my way up the to-do list.
The cheerful animation and fresh gameplay to the farming genre have been such a joy and I can’t wait to play more Super Farming boy on the go! Let’s go! Thank you once again to LemonChilli Games for sharing this game with me, I hope everyone gets to experience Super Farming Boy!
